TEA's 2024 Annual Business Meeting & Luncheon

Economic Realities During an Election Year – Analyzing the Past and Projecting the Future for Michigan Business Leaders

Please join us for The Employers’ Association’s 84th Annual Business Meeting. During the business portion of our meeting, we will review The Association’s 2023 accomplishments and support provided to local businesses as well as changes and opportunities coming in 2024 as we celebrate our 85th year serving the community, Our Board Chair will share thoughts and observations from the Board’s perspective, and our CPA’s (H&S Companies) will provide a review of 2023 Financials.

As we enter our 85th year of serving the West Michigan business community, TEA celebrates the relationships we have established by providing practical HR Solutions to employers that ensure they have the tools, resources, and perspectives to make sound and appropriate operational decisions. The economic landscape has changed dramatically during the past several years – both within Michigan and Nationally – making it difficult to conduct business, and history tells us that Presidential elections have had a predictably “dampening” impact on business (that does not last much beyond the election – regardless of the outcome). Recognizing the realities of election year economics, analyzing the impact they may have on our current situation, and predicting when the anticipated disruptions to our business community – and the individuals within that community – might end is critical to preparing for “what comes next.” This year’s keynote speaker will deliver a practical message to help business leaders better understand election year economics that may minimize negative impacts on their operations and maintain their personal financial strength by providing a historical perspective framed within today’s market and world environment to help them make informed decisions.

Steve Bernhardt, Vice President at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, is a Client Advisor within the Global Funds Management Group and has been with J.P. Morgan since 2012, will be our keynote presenter this year. Steve is responsible for all aspects of business development and sales for Western Michigan and Northern Indiana for the Independent Broker Dealer Division by providing support and quarterly updates to the brokers that handle client investments and financial planning. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Steve spent 11 years as a Financial Advisor for Wells Fargo Advisors. He will be sharing his insights, perspectives, and analysis of today’s economic environment and how to best plan for both the immediate and long-term future during an election year.

Please join us as we celebrate TEA’s relationship-driven history and look forward to many more years of providing practical solutions that will ensure both your business and personal success.
