JOB SUMMARY: 

Hamilton Community Schools is seeking an energetic, personable, team player with a servant’s heart to be our next building secretary at Sandyview Learning Center. Applicants must also be skilled at providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment in which interruptions are the norm and the ability to be flexible and multi-task is essential.

  • Comfortable providing medical intervention and ongoing medical support to students and staff members as needed. (First Aide and CPR Certification is desired. Training to support specific ongoing medical conditions, as well as the distribution of medications will be provided)
  • Knowledgeable regarding PC and Chromebook computer systems
  • Skilled in word processing (Microsoft Word, Google) and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google)
  • Proficient with data entry and management of various web-based databases such as PowerSchool (School Connects), MUNIS, MICR, FinalForms, Red Rover and Foxbright
  • Experienced with payroll processing/ willingness to be trained in this area.
  • Able to respect the privacy of those within our school community and maintain confidentiality at all times 

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails
  • Assist with preschool enrollment, collecting documents and reporting as needed. 
  • Assist with licensing requirements for preschool as directed.
  • Help maintain and update the HVS and SLC websites.
  • Manage the Virtual School field trip class.
  • Assist with program communication for Hawkeye Preschool and Hamilton Virtual School.
  • Other duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Typing/keyboarding skills of 50 wpm with accuracy
  • Two years of experience in a related field or equivalent training
  • Demonstrated ability to operate the office equipment as listed in the tools and equipment area above
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to perform general office procedures with accuracy
  • Must be able to acquire a working understanding of account codes
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independently
  • Must be accurate, dependable, tactful, and confidential
  • Problem-solving skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform on the computer using Windows environment and related Microsoft applications and Google Suite applications
  • Must be self-motivated toward assigned duties, work well under pressure, and possess the ability to work with constant interruptions in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team

START DATE: 2024-2025 School Year

 

SALARY RANGE: $18.14

   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25+ pounds.
