Master Electrician
The primary responsibilities of the Master Electrician will be to oversee the Electrical Department of the factory facility, ensuring NEC (National Electric Code) compliance of all electrical work. Other duties will be to mentor and coach journeymen and apprentices in electrical skills, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems, and an understanding of the NEC. Under general direction the Master Electrician will be involved with the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment in the facility including working with outside contractors on projects and new equipment installations.

Work Schedule:
- First Shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Monday – Friday
- Ability to work daily overtime as needed
- Ability to work Saturday and Sunday overtime days as needed

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Must possess a solid work history a valid State of Michigan Master Electrician License and a working knowledge of the National Electric Code/NEC
- Must possess the ability to work needed overtime and or weekends
- Must be proficient in electrical systems including 24VDC through 480VAC three phase as well as 277 VAC lighting circuits
- Splicing and termination of wiring as needed, installing motor starters, contactors, relays, HMI’s Motors PLC (Programmable Logic Control) racks, backplanes, I/O cards, safety modules etc.
- Must be proficient in reading PLC ladder logic and able to edit any needed program changes within RS Logix500 as well as RS Logix5000, HMI programming, Design, program, install and repair PLC/Control systems.
- Must have the aptitude to install and program Allen Bradley variable frequency drives
- This position is responsible for measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing conduit for new electrical installations or equipment moves and be knowledgeable at sizing proper wire sizes to meet NEC code.
- Ability to troubleshoot various electrical components of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Ability to use and learn CMMS system as (SAP).
- Perform plant PMs and work order as assigned.
- Working with outside contractors on quotes for projects and new equipment installations.
- Assist other team members of the maintenance department as needed to troubleshoot down equipment, make repairs and adjustments in a timely, safe, and accurate manner.
- Adhere to the LOTO (LOCK OUT TAG OUT) policies of the plant
- Support Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS)
- Perform any other duty as assigned by supervisor or lead person
- Work in a safe manner, following all general safety rules of the plant.
- This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Following PPE requirements
- Escalating safety defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
- Assure that we are always working to meet or exceed our quality standards. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Following GMP requirements
- Inspecting raw materials and finished goods
- Completing quality documentation
- Assisting in rework as assigned
- Escalating quality defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 - 100 pounds, requesting assistance as necessary.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed during his/her job to high noise levels, chemicals, exposure to strong odors, fumes or airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.
Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear company authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection and other personal protective equipment to successfully perform the functions of this job safely.
