Summer Intern Job Description-Supply Chain - Procurement

Position Title: Procurement Intern
Department: Supply Chain
Location: Request Foods, Holland, Michigan
Reports To: Director of Procurement

Position Overview

The Procurement Intern will support the Supply Chain team in sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in procurement processes, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in supplier research, qualification, and onboarding.
  • Support RFQ (Request for Quotation) and RFP (Request for Proposal) processes, including data collection and bid analysis.
  • Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies and timelines.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for procurement meetings and cost-saving forums.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Economics with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong academic record in a relevant field of study.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Work Hours & Duration

  • 40 hours/week
  • Duration May–August 2026
