About Wendy Block

Senior VP of Business Advocacy, The Michigan Chamber of Commerce 

Consistently named one of Lansing’s Most Effective lobbyists by lawmakers and capitol insiders, Wendy is the senior VP of business advocacy for the Michigan Chamber. 

Wendy leads the organization’s extensive legislative and political operations. She is the organization’s chief lobbyist and is known for her deep policy knowledge, unwavering ethics and forthrightness, and commitment to pragmatic public policy.  

Wendy has worked in and around Lansing’s political circles for over two decades and has her pulse on key business issues before the Michigan Legislature. Before joining the Chamber, Wendy held several policy-related positions in the Michigan House and Senate.  

In addition to being named one of Lansing’s “Most Effective Membership Organization or Association” lobbyists many years running (most recently again in 2023), Wendy was recognized in Crain’s 2022 50 Names to Know in Lobbying.   

Wendy holds a B.A. from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM), the Leadership Michigan program and the Leadership Development Program (LDP) at the Center for Creative Leadership.  

The Michigan Chamber is a statewide business organization representing 5,000 member businesses of every size and industry in all 83 counties. Chamber members collectively employ over a million Michiganders.

About Sandy Andre

Associate Employment & Labor Section, Miller Johnson Attorneys 

Sandra Andre is an Associate in Miller Johnson’s employment and labor section, where she advises employers and human resource professionals on a wide range of workplace legal matters. Her expertise includes occupational safety and health, wage and hour law, employment discrimination, disabilities and accommodation, workplace harassment, and more. Sandra also defends employers in employment litigation, handling cases such as discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation.

Sandra brings a decade of human resources leadership to her legal practice. She previously served as the first Assistant Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs at Central Michigan University’s College of Medicine, where she developed key HR programs and advised leadership on complex employment matters. Prior to that, she held various HR leadership roles in higher education, healthcare, and manufacturing, specializing in employee relations, policy development, and compliance.

Sandra holds a PHR (Professional of Human Resources) certification and previously earned the SHRM-CP credential. She graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law, where she earned her J.D. and received several awards for her academic and advocacy achievements. Sandra also holds a Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources and a B.S. in Psychology, both from Michigan State University.

Miller Johnson is a mid-sized law firm based in Michigan, specializing in providing legal services to a diverse range of clients with expertise in areas like corporate law, employment law, real estate, healthcare, litigation, and estate planning.
