Meet Your Independent Candidate for Governor
Mike Duggan is the 75th Mayor of Detroit and a nationally recognized leader in urban revitalization. First elected during Detroit’s historic bankruptcy in 2013, he led the city’s recovery by restoring essential services, installing 60,000 LED streetlights, launching one of the largest blight removal campaigns in the nation, and investing over $1 billion in affordable housing. His Motor City Match program has helped launch nearly 200 small businesses and create over 1,700 jobs.
Prior to becoming mayor, Duggan was CEO of the Detroit Medical Center, where he returned the hospital system to profitability and secured $850 million in capital improvements. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy County Executive of Wayne County, overseeing a $2 billion budget and helping deliver major projects like Detroit Metro Airport’s McNamara Terminal and the city’s downtown stadiums.
A Detroit native and lifelong Michigander, Duggan is known for solving tough problems and making government work for the people—focused on equity, innovation, and opportunity for all.
