Join us as we welcome Ottawa Area ISD leaders, David Tebo & Dr. Kyle Mayer, as we explore the innovative education practices at work in our community. 



About David Tebo

David is a father, husband and avid reader who relentlessly seeks ways to meet the needs of ALL students so each can thrive. David has been an elementary teacher, building principal and served students, teachers and the Hamilton community as the superintendent of his second district. Now David serves as the Director of Innovation Services at Ottawa Area ISD. A life-long learner, David constantly looks for ways to connect education to the world around us. He sees today's diverse resources as a way to design new learning experiences that meet ALL learners where they are, giving skills and content context for application.



About Dr. Kyle Mayer

Dr. Kyle Mayer is Superintendent of the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District. Kyle’s previous experiences as a public educator include elementary teacher, building principal and local district superintendent.  Kyle has been recognized as a statewide leader in teaching and learning, including being twice appointed to the Governor’s Pre-K-12 Literacy Commission and currently serves as Instructional Committee Chair for MAISA, representing Michigan ISDs statewide. Kyle is married to Melissa, a fifth-grade teacher in Grand Haven and is the proud father of a daughter Sarah (17) and son Ryan (14).  Lola the French Bulldog and Bandit the cat round out the active and energetic Mayer family.



Wondering what to expect at the event? 

Wake Up West Coast brings together Chamber members every month for networking, to hear and learn about business best practices from fascinating leaders from around the country and within our own community. Each month features coffee and networking time followed by a delicious breakfast buffet and a featured guest speaker. We hope to see you there!
